Gradiva Knowledge

Local Markdown retrieval with source-attached results and navigation through authored document relationships.
September 20262 min

Search exact terms locally

Gradiva Knowledge indexes local Markdown with lexical retrieval for names, identifiers and exact terminology. An optional local embedding index can be enabled for semantic retrieval. Query-time operation uses locally stored indexes and models.

Return the source with every result

Documents are ingested with their source paths and metadata. Long files can be divided into smaller sections, unchanged content can be skipped during ingestion, and search results return compact snippets with their source locations.

Links, lineage fields, shared tags and folder structure form a navigation layer around retrieval. The system can show what a document says it supersedes or how two artifacts are connected when those relationships have been recorded by their authors.

Expose the library to local tools

A local MCP server provides search, status and artifact retrieval without requiring the corpus to be sent to a hosted search service.
